I graduated in 2013 from Guilford College with a BS in community justice studies with a minor in Psychology. In 2013, I applied to grad school and graduated with honors from South University of High Point with a master’s in clinical mental health counseling.
I have extensive experience with anxiety, depression, domestic violence, anger management and much more. I'm a holistic therapist with a caring spirit and I strive to create a warm, welcoming and supportive environment for you to share your feelings. I sometimes like to incorporate sound healing into my sessions. My clients find it to be relaxing, and it helps with anxiety and stress. I believe each person is an expert on his, her or their life. You already possess the tools within yourself to make positive changes. I will help you discover those tools and assist you in life transitions so that you may find your true self. Do you feel like you're on autopilot? Life got you stressed out and you're just going through the motions. We will work together to help you recognize any thoughts or maladaptive behaviors that can produce painful feelings, that can lead to unresolved issues. Together we will discover your choices along with therapeutic goals to help you reach your full potential. I am interested in the adult population as well as children ages 4 and up. My approach to counseling the adult population is based on person-centered, solution focused and cognitive-behavioral theoretical approaches. Traditional talk therapy is not always comfortable for all clients nor is it developmentally appropriate for children. Play therapy is used to engage and connect with children during sessions. I also like to incorporate art into my sessions such as clay work, painting and music. These may be used during sessions to connect with children and teens. I strive to maintain a caring environment comprising of unconditional positive regard, compassion and respect. I will meet you where you are in life without judgment or ridicule. My clients come away from therapy saying they feel heard, and my hope is you will too. Let’s talk. |
