Sunday Evening Meditation-Now Online
Taught By: Julie Barrier
Time/Date:
Sundays from 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Cost: $10.00 per person
Description Meditation is a practice. It is a type of mind/body medicine. Scientifically, meditation increases alpha waves in the brain that allow us to use higher executive functioning in our day to day choices. Physiologically, it restores our nervous system. Spiritually, it inspires us to live from our authentic self. While meditation is an individual practice, there are many common techniques that can allow an optimal experience. If you have a daily mediation practice or are interested in starting one, please join us on Sundays at 6:30 pm. We will devote 30 min. time to share our experiences and challenges with meditation and 30 minutes to learn techniques and have quiet meditation together.

“Everything in the future will improve, if you are making the spiritual effort now.” ~ Sri Yukteswar.

What is Ayurveda?

In some respects, Ayurveda is what we already do: we learn as we grow. Ayur means life. Veda means knowledge. Through the course of our life, we gain knowledge according to our interests. We have experiences from walking the path we chose. When we come to a spot where we question our choices because we are suffering mentally, physically, or spiritually we may not know where to turn as we do not trust our decisions. However, this point is actually a beautiful, hopeful beginning, because there is awareness. Awareness allows you to consider new choices.

I like to think of Ayurveda as the science of patterns. Our body: physical, mental, and emotional, gives us clues for discerning our current state. Ayurveda gives us a method for changing our current state. The conscious practice of Ayurveda reconnects us to our natural rhythms, healthy relationships, and our ability to effectively change our patterns to positive impact our surroundings. Truly, you are your own healer.

There are many different methods within Ayurveda to help you create homeostasis within your body, mind, and spirit. Modifications within current routines can significantly, over time, change how you experience your life and health.

If you would like to learn more about this tried and true tradition of wellness, come to one of the monthly classes or schedule a consultation.
